Abstract:
Divorce is a societal issue that can cause harm. This phenomenon affects people's lives in various ways and is the main source of emotional, cognitive, and physical complexity changes in the family system especially in children. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of reality therapy and logo therapy in reducing mental rumination and loneliness among children of divorced parents in Shiraz City. The statistical population of the research included all children of divorced parents who in ۱۴۰۲ referred to counseling centers under the welfare supervision of Shiraz city for the treatment of mental rumination and feelings of loneliness, and ۴۵ of them were selected using the available method. Two experimental groups and one control group were randomly selected, each with ۱۵ participants. To collect information, we used the rumination response scale questionnaire by Nolen Heck Sima and Maro (۱۹۹۱) and Russell et al.'s loneliness questionnaire (۱۹۸۰). The current study was a quasi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group and a follow-up phase. The experimental groups were treated with reality therapy (۱۰ sessions of ۹۰ minutes) and logo therapy (۱۰ sessions of ۹۰ minutes), and a follow-up was done after three months. The data were analyzed using the statistical test of covariance. The results showed that both reality therapy and logo therapy are effective in mental rumination and feelings of loneliness among children of divorced parents in Shiraz city (P<۰.۰۰۱). The results of the analysis indicated that logo therapy is more effective than reality therapy in reducing mental rumination and loneliness.
