Compare Cutoff Points of MMPI Questionnaire in Normal People and Prisoners

The purpose of this research was to compare the cutoff points of the MMPI questionnaire scales in the groups of ordinary people and prisoners. The current research is practical in terms of purpose and comparative in terms of nature and method. The statistical population of the current research consists of two groups of prisoners: all male and female prisoners of Zahedan prison who had at least one year of conviction and were also guilty of crimes other than murder and drug-related cases, and ordinary people: Non-prisoners who were willing to participate in the research. The statistical sample of the current research consisted of ۷۵۱ people from two groups of prisoners and non-prisoners who were willing to participate in this research while being aware of the objectives of the research, who were selected by available sampling method. In this research, the data collection tool is the MMPI questionnaire with ۷۱ questions. The method of data analysis was calculated along with descriptive indices such as mean, standard deviation, standard scores and validity of the questionnaire separately for the studied groups. The results show that in addition to the fact that the MMPI questionnaire has different validity coefficients in the two investigated groups, the range of standard scores as well as the points corresponding to the ۵۰% point, which is usually considered as the cut-off point in this test, are in different scales. It is different depending on the group under investigation.
