Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to clarify the role of students' perception of teachers' educational optimism in predicting students' self-efficacy and mathematical progress. The method of this research was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the research included all the students of Zahedan city that ۳۳۸ of them (۱۶۳ girls and ۱۷۵ boys) were selected through convenience sampling method for this study. The research tools included self-efficacy questionnaire (Bandura, ۱۹۸۶), educational optimism questionnaire (Schanen Moran, ۲۰۱۳) and academic progress (Aminifar, ۲۰۱۹). To analyze the data descriptive and inferential statistical were used using SPSS-۲۱ software. The findings showed that there was a significant relationship between students' perception of teachers' educational optimism and students' self-efficacy and academic (mathematical) progress (p<۰.۰۱). The regression results showed that the students' perception of teachers' educational optimism could predict ۶۸.۵% of the variance in math self-efficacy and ۴۰.۳% of the variance of students' academic progress in mathematics. The results showed that there was a significant difference between male and female students' on perceptions of teachers' educational optimism. Female students' perceptions of teachers' educational optimism was higher in comparison to their female counterparts.
