Abstract:

The purpose of the research was to compare the effectiveness of psychodrama and cognitive reconstruction techniques on disease anxiety and mental health of female students in Shiraz. The semi-experimental research method is pre-test-post-test with control group. The statistical population of the research is the female students of Shiraz city, from which ۶۰ people were selected by random sampling and were placed in two experimental groups (۲۰) and one control group (۲۰). For one group, psychodrama techniques were performed in ۱۰ ۲-hour sessions, and for the other group, cognitive restructuring was performed in ۲۰ ۱-hour sessions, for the control group, no intervention was performed. The research tools were the GHO Goldberg Mental Health Questionnaire (۱۹۷۲) and Salkoskis and Warwick's Health Anxiety Questionnaire (۲۰۰۲) and the data were analyzed using covariance analysis. The results showed that both treatment protocols were effective, but psychodrama techniques had a more effective effect on reducing the anxiety of the disease and increasing mental health than cognitive reconstruction. Therefore, psychodrama can be used more to improve anxiety disorder and increase mental health.
