Abstract:

Teaching is more than a job or a profession; it moulds a person's personality. At various periods of life, many concepts and principles are formed. The present study was done to find the interaction effect between the type of university and gender on impulsiveness. For this purpose, data were collected from ۵۰۰ university teachers working within West Bengal, with ۲۵۰ working in private universities and ۲۵۰ working in government universities. The data were further divided based on gender, as ۲۵۰ males and ۲۵۰ females (۱۲۵ miles from private and ۱۲۵ males from government universities; ۱۲۵ females from private and ۱۲۵ females from government universities). An Independent Sample T-Test was used to assess the level of significance difference between the two groups. ۲–way ANOVA was used to determine the relationship and interaction between type of university and gender. The two-factor analysis of variance showed a significant main effect of interaction between university and gender (F=۱.۰۵; p>۰.۰۱) and it was also found that men (m=۱۳۷.۲۱) are more impulsive than women (۱۰۹.۸۵), and teachers working in private universities (m=۱۷۹.۰۴) have more impulsiveness than government universities (m=۶۸.۰۲).
