Abstract:

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between academic self-concept and enthusiasm for school with students' academic emotions with the mediating role of academic attitude. Method: This research is descriptive-survey in terms of practical purpose and data collection method. The statistical population included secondary school students of non-government schools in the ۱۳th district of Tehran who were enrolled in the academic year ۲۰۲۲ – ۲۰۲۳. Collecting the required data was also done using the questionnaire tool. To examine the variable of academic self-concept from Marsh's Academic Self-concept Questionnaire (۱۹۹۰) with ۶ items, in order to measure enthusiasm for school from the questionnaire of Wang, Violet and Scales (۲۰۱۱), which includes three behavioral, emotional and cognitive aspects of enthusiasm for school was used with ۲۰ items. Also, to examine the academic attitude variable, Akbari's Academic Attitude Questionnaire (۱۳۸۳) with ۱۵ items was used, and to measure academic emotions, Pakran's Academic Emotions Standard Questionnaire (AEQ) with ۲۱ items was used. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. SPSS and Smart PLS software were used in data analysis. Findings: The research findings indicated that the mediating role of academic attitude between academic self-concept and passion for school was confirmed with students' academic emotions. Also, the results showed that academic self-concept and passion for school were related to academic attitude. Academic attitude was related to academic emotions.
