Optimum Light Coupling: Modifying the Space between Gold Bowtie Nano-Antenna and Photonic Crystal Nano-Cavity abstract

Efficient coupling of light between silicon photonic crystal nano-cavity as dielectric substrate and plasmonic bowtie nano antenna considering the optimum distance between two sub structures is studied in this paper. Numerical simulations results demonstrate that placing nano antenna directly on the surface of the photonic crystal nano cavity effectively eXcites the antenna’sPlasmon-resonance which results in high intensity optical field obtained within the plasmonic structure. This improved optical field can be applied in different applications such as optical trapping, sensors, optical sources and etc.
