Abstract:
TiO۲ thin film on glass surface was synthesized by a sol gel method using tetra-isopropylorthotitanate (TiPT) and ethanol solution as precursors and dip coating method. UV-Visiblespectrum of TiO۲ thin film shows a transparent film has been formed. Morphology, uniformity andthe thickness of thin film was investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images andthe thickness of thin film was measured about ۲۸۵ nm. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirms TiO۲nanoparticles were formed in anatase crystalline structure and the crystallite size was calculatedusing Deby-Scherrer formula about ۱۲ nm. Photo catalytic property of TiO۲ nano layer was studiedusing photo degradation of methylene blue and oleic acid on the surface under UV light irradiation,it was observed a ۷۰% reduction of methylene blue concentration after ۴ hours UV irradiation. Thewater droplet contact angle has been measured by Dino-Light Digital Microscope. Contact anglemeasurement for water droplet after ۲۴ hours UV irradiation, shows decreasing from ۷۵ to ۴۵degree for coated TiO۲/glass by oleic acid, while it increased from ۴۳ to ۶۷ for coated glass byoleic acid
