Abstract:
Alumina Porous materials due to their exclusive properties were used in various applicationssuch as filtration filtration and catalyst supports. In this study, porous bodies were fabricated by freezecasting and conversion slip concentration. As a result for achieving optimum porositypercentage, ۸۲% solid content was necessary. Samples were frozen unidirectionally due toformation of unidirectional porosity. XRD patterns of samples are shown that the dominatedphases are corundum. SEM micrographs of samples microstructures indicate unidirectionalmorphology of porosity in the bodies. The porosity widths are in order of ۵ microns.
