Abstract:

The aim of the current research was to investigate the effect of ۸ weeks of Pilates exercises on cardiovascular risk factors, body composition, and sleep quality of healthy women after natural childbirth in Tehran province. Materials and methods: In this research, ۴۰ women with natural childbirth from Tehran province in the range of ۳۵ years as a sample from the statistical population of ۶۰ people were randomly selected in ۲ control and pilates groups and participated in the research. The participants started Pilates exercises ۲ weeks after natural childbirth and continued for ۸ weeks. After eight weeks, blood samples were taken from the subjects. Correlated t-test was used to compare pre-test and post-test averages within each group and independent t-test was used between groups. Findings: The results showed that eight weeks of Pilates training had a significant effect on sleep quality, triglycerides, LDL, cholesterol. p<۰.۰۵) but it had no significant effect on HDL levels, blood sugar and body composition (p>۰.۰۵). Conclusion: Eight weeks of Pilates practice has a positive effect on the quality of sleep of women after natural childbirth, but it probably has no effect on lipid profile. .
