Determining the Role of the Quality of Communication with Others and Psychological Capital in the Resilience and Self-Regulation of Women with Breast Cancer abstract

Purpose: Breast cancer in women is of particular importance because it affects various aspects of the quality of life, including physical, mental health and social well-being, and for this reason, identifying the factors that affect the resilience and self-regulation of women with breast cancer. It is of interest to researchers. The purpose of this research was to investigate the role of the quality of communication with others and psychological capital in the resilience and self-regulation of women with breast cancer.Methodology: The present research was in the category of descriptive-correlational researches in terms of practical purpose and in terms of method and nature. The statistical population of this research included all women with breast cancer referred to Shahrood and Semnan hospitals, 200 people were selected as a sample through Green's formula and the research questionnaires were distributed among people through targeted sampling. To collect information, standard questionnaires of the quality of relationships by Pierce et al. (1991), psychological capital by Luthans et al. (2007), resilience by Connor and Davidson (2003) and self-regulation questionnaire by Bouffard (1995) were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS22 software.Findings: Data analysis revealed that: the quality of communication with others and psychological capital have a positive and significant effect on resilience and self-regulation of women with breast cancer (p<0.05).Conclusion: It seems that the quality of communication with others and psychological capital are of special importance in the resilience and self-regulation of women with breast cancer.
