Abstract:
Introduction: Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a very prevalent psychiatric conditiondiagnosed in children and teenagers. It is also becoming more frequently identified in adult populations.Methods: This review study was conducted by analyzing articles from various databases such as PubMed,Magiran, Scopus, Science Direct, and Web of Science. The search was conducted from ۲۰۱۸ to ۲۰۲۳, and atotal of ۴۱ articles were initially collected. After careful screening, ۲۰ eligible articles were included in the finalcompilation. The study focused: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, children, nutrition, and included bothforeign and domestic sources.Results: Based on studies conducted, the findings indicate that dietary regimen is an important factor incontrolling and treating ADHD disorder. Clinical trials have shown that materials like zinc, magnesium, iron,unsaturated fatty acids, with the effect they have on the brain and nervous system of patients, increase thetreatment process and duration of improvement in these patients. It is also stated that non-observance of someprinciples in the dietary regimen such as foods high in saturated fats, foods containing dyes, excess consumptionof sugar and sugar can worsen and cause relapse of the disease.Conclusion: Based on the results obtained, this indicates that proper nutrition can play an important role inmanaging ADHD symptoms and requires special attention to this issue and providing appropriate nutritionalsolutions for individuals with this disorder
