The early results of massive osteoarticular allograft in the surgical treatment of lower limb bone tumors

This is the early results of ۲۰ cases of massive osteoarticular allograft performed for reconstruction of lower limb s after resection of bone tumors. These cases include ۷ distal femur and hemiarticular ,۶ proximal tibio and hemiarticular, ۳ total knee joints and ۴ proximal femur with total hip replacement. Bone allografts were taken at steril condition from early postmortum cadavers and stored at -۸۵. Allograft were fixed by plate and screwss without autogenous bone grafting. Patients were followed up carefully for ۶ to ۱۸ months, complications include acute infection in one, chronic infection in ۲. Failure of fixation in ۱ and skin necrosis on allograft in ۱ patient and no sign of severe immunologic reaction was observed. Overall the results was good in ۱۵ patients(۷۵℅).
