Abstract:

Information and communication technology has improved performance in various industries. One of the industries affected by technology is the construction industry, which forms a considerable part of Hamadan's economic activities. In order to investigate the economic effects of information and communication technology in the construction industry, a questionnaire was prepared by the researchers and presented to ۳۱ people from the construction industry in Hamedan. The survey found that ۷۴% of participants believe implementing information and communication technology in construction will reduce project costs, and ۸۴% think it will decrease project completion time. Additionally, ۸۱% believe it will enhance worker performance, and ۸۴% expect it to lessen environmental impact. Furthermore, ۷۴% anticipate gaining a competitive advantage with the adoption of technology. Concerning barriers, ۳۹% attribute the lack of technology adoption to inadequate training, ۲۹% to the need for better policies, ۱۳% to high costs, and ۱۹% to a perceived lack of necessity for technology in construction. Based on this, Information and communication technology will improve the performance of companies active in the construction industry.
