Abstract:
Research indicates that the suboptimal placement and sizing of Distributed Generation (DG) units can lead to increased losses, negatively impacting the voltage profile and introducing harmonics. Numerous scholars and researchers are dedicated to identifying the optimal location and size for DG units. Various intelligent algorithms, such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithms (GA), are employed to minimize the economic cost of the system and determine the optimal placement of DG units. Optimization methods take into account the initial cost of DG units and aim to minimize power losses. Typically, the Power Flow (PF) algorithm for radial networks is initially employed to find the optimal solution. Subsequently, intelligent algorithms are applied for calculating the objective function based on factors such as voltage profile, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), losses, and sensitivity analysis.
