Effect of nonlinear seismic isolator on the dynamic behavior of the structure due to base excitation

This research investigates the effects of using seismic isolators on the transverse vibrations of structures. To do so the governing equations for the vibration behavior of a single floor with the assumption of a unified frame, are obtained. Then by generalizing it, the vibration behavior of all floors is extracted. Using the static consolidation technique, the vibration behavior of the system is achieved in a concentrated manner, and then the critical vibrations of the structure are determined. In the following, by using vibration isolators, vibrations in the critical points of the structure is checked again and the effectiveness of the system is achieved in order to reduce the range of vibrations. Finally, the effect of using a seismic isolator on the vibrations of the structure is investigated and analyzed.
