Abstract:
This study investigates the use of windbreaks as an element for creating comfort in hot and dry climates, specifically in Kashan. Using CFD and Energy Plus software and with a descriptive-analytical method, the study looks at the hydrodynamic behavior of wind in windbreaks under different conditions (moisture, wetting, and water-sprayed surfaces). The findings show that windbreaks with water spray are the most effective in reducing temperatures. Factors that affect their efficiency include dimensions of air inlet and wind deflector, water temperature, and dimensions and height of windbreaks column.
