Exploring Agile Risk Management in Software Development abstract
Risk management plays a pivotal role in software development, yet it remains one of the least mature and practiced knowledge areas within software projects. Without explicit risk management, critical risks are often overlooked. Some authors argue that specific risk management practices are lacking in agile projects. Consequently, establishing a robust risk management process becomes essential for achieving project success. Moreover, agile project failures are frequently linked to ineffective risk management. While agile projects often handle risk management implicitly, some experts contend that this approach falls short. To ensure project success, it is crucial to proactively identify, assess, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle. Explicit risk management processes can significantly enhance the chances of success and mitigate the risk of failure by mitigating risks such as schedule, financial, technology, security, requirement change, performance risks and many others.
