Abstract:

In this research, the design of a high voltage power supply unit and the construction of ۴ plasma activated water reactors using it have been discussed. ۳ types of reactors are designed based on high voltage electric discharge on the water surface (corona discharge, spark discharge and arc discharge) and a reactor based on underwater plasma jet. Each of the ۴ constructed reactors will activate ۲۰۰ ml of tap water for ۳۰ minutes. Indicators such as pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature have been measured in ۵-minute intervals. After ۳۰ minutes, the dissolved ozone concentration was measured by DPD calorimetric method. The results show that underwater plasma jet had the best performance in activating water. After the plasma jet, in terms of performance, there were corona discharge reactor, spark discharge reactor and arc discharge reactor
