Determining the Hematological and serological findings of children with covid-19 and its relationship with clinical and paraclinical results abstract

Background and aim: This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the serological findings of children with covid-19 and its relationship with the clinical and paraclinical results of children admitted to Hazrat Masoumeh Hospital in the middle of 1400. Methods: The data of this study were extracted from the database of patients for whom the disease of Covid-19 was definitively proven. The clinical outcome of these patients (discharge, death, length of hospitalization, etc.) was also recorded in the checklist for one month after hospitalization, as the last day of the patients' follow-up. Epidemiological, clinical, laboratory data, radiological indicators, treatment and clinical consequences were extracted from the electronic medical records of these patients using data collection forms. Finally, all information was entered into spss software version 22 and analyzed according to statistical tests. The significant level for all tests was considered 0.05%. Results: None of the clinical symptoms had a significant relationship with the Ig M response (P>0.05). Among the clinical symptoms, only diarrhea and abdominal pain in patients were statistically significantly related to the Ig G response (P<0.05). Among laboratory symptoms, thrombocytopenia had a statistically significant relationship with Ig M (P=0.009) and positive urine culture had a statistically significant relationship with Ig G (P=0.00). Other laboratory symptoms had no statistically significant relationship with serological findings (P>0.05). Imaging findings had a statistically significant relationship only with Ig G (P=0.00) and no significant statistical relationship was found with Ig M (P=0.23). Conclusion: The result of this study showed that the serological findings of these patients are also important in the diagnosis of this disease.
