An Optimal Model for the Service Life Prediction of Reinforced Concrete Frames abstract
Appropriate planning for the repair, maintenance, and operation of concrete structures is one of the mostimportant reasons for predicting the service life of these structures. Therefore, it is very important toconsider the appropriate definition of life and durability for the structure, based on which a suitable modelcan be obtained to extract the necessary results for predicting the service life. Regulations and differentpeople have provided different definitions of life and durability for concrete, and they have presented theirproposed models, each of which has strengths and weaknesses. It has been tried to first briefly address thedefinitions of different people and centers of life and durability. Then the method of predicting service lifeby two schematic and numerical models has been examined. The results of these models have beenindependently evaluated, and the better model has been presented according to the use of the results of realspecimens.
