Experimental Study of the Effects of Adding Marble Powder on the Mechanical Properties of Concrete abstract

Concrete, a crucial component in the global construction industry, typically incorporates natural sandas its fine aggregate. However, the extensive use of sand in construction activities has led to excessivemining, depleting natural resources and causing issues such as increased scour depth and potential flooding.Consequently, the need for alternative materials in concrete has become inevitable. Marble, an importantmaterial in construction, generates marble powder during the processing of marble blocks, withapproximately 20-25% of the processed marble being transformed into powder form. The disposal of thismarble powder poses a significant environmental problem worldwide. To address this issue, the presentstudy focuses on utilizing marble powder from the construction industry itself as a replacement for naturalsand in concrete. The replacement is carried out partially and fully, with proportions of 0%, 5%, 10%, and20%, and the impact on concrete properties is thoroughly evaluated. In this research, the compressivestrength of concrete samples is calculated by considering the effects of adding marble powder.
