Increasing The Knowledge Of Menopause Women In Independent Ending Of Contraception Through Educational Mode abstract
Aims: Women aged 40–52 years using contraception have high motivation to prevent pregnancy; at this age, women are starting to enter Menopause. Menopause is the period when women experience the end of reproductive function, marked by the cessation of menstruation. Menopause no longer requires contraception to prevent pregnancy.
Instrument & Methods: The method used in this research is a quantitative research method using a pre-experimental research design with a one-group pre-post-test approach design with purposive sampling of 112 women. Research data was obtained by filling out a questionnaire and testing using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of p<0.05.
Findings: The results also suggest that a better understanding of Menopause and contraception can help reduce confusion and uncertainty in navigating this phase in a woman's life cycle. In addition, it was found that continuous use of hormonal contraceptives can disrupt the menstrual cycle, which in turn can make it difficult to detect the onset of Menopause. This research highlights the importance of targeted health education in helping women deal with the physiological and hormonal changes of Menopause. Education provided in a comprehensive and structured manner can deliver significant benefits to increasing knowledge, understanding, and awareness about Menopause and reproductive health management in women of menopausal age.
Conclusions: Health education modeling applied to menopausal women is effective in increasing knowledge and independent termination of contraception if Menopause is detected.
