Abstract:

Introduction: Infertility encompasses various medical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions, contributing to a complex and challenging experience. This study aims to explore the impact of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Therapy (MBSR) on the psychological well-being, quality of life, and marital satisfaction of women undergoing IVF treatment.Materials and Methods: This randomized clinical trial group enrolled ۴۴ infertile women undergoing IVF treatment that was divided into two groups, comprising ۲۲ individuals each. The intervention group received MBSR training. Assessment tools included the Psychological Symptoms Questionnaire (BSI), World Health Quality of Life Questionnaire, and Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (Enrich).Results: MBSR treatment yielded significantly lower mean scores for psychological symptoms in the intervention group compared to the control group (P<۰.۰۵). Moreover, it substantially elevated average scores for quality of life and marital satisfaction compared to the control group (P<۰.۰۵).Conclusion: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction emerges as an effective therapeutic approach in alleviating psychological symptoms and enhancing the quality of life and marital satisfaction among infertile women undergoing IVF treatment.
