Abstract:
In this paper, dynamic behaviors of multiwall boron nitride nanotubes(MWBNNTs) are inquired by employing the multiple elastic shellsmodel. Influences of van der Waals interactions among layers areallowed nonlinearly as a function of interlayer distance of MWBNNTs.Governing equations solved with developing finite element method andby employing time history diagrams, radial wave speed from outmostlayer to inmost layer is computed. In addition, the effects of surroundingpressures on wave speed in MWBNNTs are discussed. Also, timehistories diagrams of MWBNNTs with impact of initial longitudinaldeflection are investigated and the extension of the longitudinal wavesthrough the length of layers are shown.
