Abstract:

This study explores the impact of incorporating Micro-Encapsulated Phase Change Material (MEPCM) into water and producing MEPCM Slurry (MPCS) to enhance the heat transfer of jet impingement cooling. The investigation is conducted experimentally. The conversation covers the effects of different crucial factors on heat transfer in jet impingement. In this research, the impact of employing MPCS was investigated at two concentrations, namely ۲.۵% and ۵% mass fraction, in water as the base fluid. The experimental findings indicate that using a ۵% mass fraction of MPCS can increase the heat transfer coefficient by ۱۶.۷۵% compared to pure water. This enhancement is attributed to the latent heat absorption of PCM, resulting in a reduction in surface temperature. It was observed using MPCS could reduce the steady surface temperature by ۲.۱ at a ۵% mass fraction and by ۱ at a ۲.۵% mass fraction. in addition, using MPCS because of its significant latent heat value can potentially decrease the extreme temperature gradient.
