Abstract:

This article examines the significance and consequences of Kurdish women's involvement in public life and their contributions to society. It delves into their historical context, challenges, and progress towards equality and empowerment. Additionally, it explores how Kurdish women have engaged in various aspects of public life, including politics, education, activism, and business. Drawing on a wide range of sources such as academic literature, publications, and case studies, it offers a thorough overview of Kurdish women's experiences. The study investigates the factors influencing their participation, including cultural traditions, political dynamics, conflicts, and social movements. Findings reveal that Kurdish women have played a crucial role in challenging traditional gender roles and advocating for their rights. They have actively participated in political decision-making at different levels and promoted education for girls and young women to enhance their socio-economic empowerment. Despite facing challenges such as patriarchal norms, limited resources, violence, discrimination, and political instability, Kurdish women have made significant progress towards gender equality. Their involvement has led to policy changes promoting gender inclusivity and the establishment of grassroots organizations addressing issues like domestic violence, healthcare access, and economic empowerment.
