Abstract:

Pulse tube systems have been widely used in low frequency refrigerators and heaters recently. Pulse tube systems have many advantages over similar systems such as; no rotating elements, mechanical simplicity and the ability to reach lower temperatures easily. In many instances like, space related technologies, military and medical usages the required temperature is too low for conventional refrigeration systems which causes these systems to be costly and requires them to be very precisely designed. On the other hand, the pulse tube systems can achieve these goals with much less effort. The dynamic performance of these systems can be simulated through exergy which have been the attracting the attention of many researchers. The aim is to analyze exergy for these systems so that these systems can be optimized through this process. Despite all of the efforts invested in simulation and modelling of the pulse tube systems, In this article, the exergy analysis of pulse tube refrigerators is studied. The results will be in form of equations in order to mathematically model pulse tube systems.
