Electrocatalytic determination of uric acid using NiFe(2)O(4) nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode abstract
A sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the determination of uric acid was developed using a modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE) with spinel NiFe(2)0(4). Cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the redox properties of this modified electrode at various solution pH values and at various scan rates. The results showed an efficient catalytic role for the electro-oxidation of UA, leading to a remarkable peak resolution for compounds. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration curve for UA was obtained in the range of 8.0×10−8 to 1.04×10−3 M. The proposed method was applied to determination of UA in real samples and the obtained results were satisfactory. The results obtained in this work demonstrated the potentiality of the spinel for determination of UA.
