A review on effect of nanostructures on thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate abstract
Size reduction of the catalyst increases the surface area and hence the catalytic activity is also increased. The results of some studies show that nanometer metals and nanometer metal oxides are more effective catalysts on thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate. Presence of nanometer metal and metal oxides powders has no effect on the crystallographic transition temperature, but, it has intense influence on the temperature of the second exothermic peak. In this paper, the effect of nano-structures of metals and metal oxides on thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate is highlighted.
