Abstract:

Visiting museums for most children is boring without any practical involvement of children inmuseum premises as they have little information about and interest in culture and history. In thispaper, the effects of practical involvement of children aged ۷-۱۳ participated in child tours havebeen assessed regarding the level of their increased interests in visiting museums. For this purpose, statistics of data related to ۳۱ culture child tours executed in between April ۲۰۲۳ to April ۲۰۲۴were analyzed. Totally, ۱۴ out of ۳۱ child tours were executed in Ardabil museums; others wereexecuted in UNESCO and NATIONAL registered historical and cultural sites that are out of thisresearch scope. And, ۱۰ out of these ۱۴ culture child tours in museums were dedicated toonly-visit tours and the rest were carried out regarding visit & workshop tours. Based on theobtained results, it was found that when a workshop is carried out along with museum visit, thelevel of interests among the children increases. In addition, the probability of children who frequently participated in next culture child tour in other museums raises. So, it is suggested thatthe Ardabil museum authorities consider constant workshops within the museums to absorb theattention of children and increase their stay time in museums.
