Unraveling the Disadvantages of Plant Nematode Ditylenchus destructor in Humans abstract
Ditylenchus destructor, also known as the potato rot nematode, is a
microscopic worm that belongs to the family Anguinidae.It is one of the
most destructive plant-parasitic nematodes, causing significant damage to
various crops, including potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots. This nematode,
commonly found in soil and water, has been identified in various human
tissues, including the digestive tract and lungs. Its presence has been
associated with gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory issues, and even
neurological symptoms.In cases of gastrointestinal infection, individuals
may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, and vomiting.
Respiratory infections caused by Ditylenchus destructor can present with
symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest pain.
Neurological symptoms associated with Ditylenchus destructor infections
are less common but can include headaches, dizziness, memory problems,
and difficulty concentrating .
