Abstract:

This study examined perceptions of Iranian EFL learners and teachers towards EFL writing skill and methods of teaching and learning writing skill. Participants taking part in this study were ۴۰ EFL learners and ۴۰ EFL teachers in cities of Gachsaran and Shiraz, Iran. Data has been collected through EFL teachers' and learners' writing perception questionnaire. Then, interview sessions have been done with ۱۰ EFL teachers and ۱۰ EFL learners to make clear their perception toward this skill. Findings showed a positive correlation between EFL teachers' perceptions towards writing and teaching methods of this skill. On the contrary, there was a negative correlation between EFL learners' perceptions towards writing skill and its available teaching methods.
