Abstract:

The transition to renewable energy sources is essential in combatingclimate change and environmental degradation. Clean energytechnologies offer a sustainable pathway towards creating eco-friendlybuildings and urban environments. Zero energy buildings, designed toproduce as much energy as they consume, are gaining momentum insustainable architecture. This study focuses on a zero-energy building inTehran, Iran, integrating solar panels, wind turbines, and an absorptionchiller. Through dynamic energy simulations and economic evaluations, the system’s performance in indoor temperature control, relativehumidity regulation, and domestic hot water supply is analyzed. Theevaluation considers the electricity consumption and costs associatedwith photovoltaic panels and wind turbines. The results highlight theeffectiveness of the system and emphasize the importance of conductingsensitivity analysis and optimization for enhanced performance and costeffectivenessin energy systems. This comprehensive approach aims topromote sustainable and environmentally conscious practices in buildingdesign and urban planning, benefiting present and future generations.
