The Effect of Active Distributed Energy Resources in the Optimal Operation of Distribution Network abstract
In the contemporary and intelligent milieu, enhancing productivity within distribution networks and optimizing energy management are paramount endeavors. With the proliferation of distributed energy resources in these networks, such entities have assumed a pivotal role in the astute management of energy. Consequently, an exhaustive examination and analysis of various types of distributed energy resources, particularly active resources, within smart distribution networks is imperative. This study delves into active distributed energy resources, encompassing renewable solar and wind energies, alongside energy storage systems, to ameliorate the operational efficacy of distribution networks. In this investigation, a 33-bus smart distribution network has been scrutinized, elucidating the impact of active distributed energy resources on performance optimization and mathematical modeling. To derive results from the mathematical modeling, GAMS and MATLAB software tools have been employed. The findings indicate that the presence of active distributed energy resources exerts a direct influence on enhancing both the technical and economic objectives of smart distribution networks while concomitantly reducing operational costs.
