optimal Reactive power planning for power system stability improvement abstract
this paper present Evolutionary programming (EP) technique for optimizing the reactive power planning (RPP) in voltage stability improvement . voltage stability index was chosen as the objective of the optimization process. In this study two RPP techniques namely optimal reactive power dispatch, and optimal transformer tap changer setting were implemented. Consequently , total transmission loss was also investigated as a result of voltage stability enhancement. The capabilities of each RPP technique in improving the voltage stability, minimizing total transmission loss, enhancement of voltage profiles and fast computation process were comared. The RPP techniques were attempted on the IEEE RTS and results are included to realise the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.
