Nowadays, the reliability of the power systemis of particular importance. Therefore, the condition oftransformers, as one of the most vital and expensive elementsof the power system, should be monitored and evaluated. Thedominant factor limiting the life of the transformer is its paperinsulation. In this paper, the study and modeling oftransformer paper aging and factors affecting paper agingsuch as humidity, temperature, and oxygen that affect thestate of paper insulation have been investigated. The criterionused to check the condition of paper insulation is the degreeof polymerization that can be obtained indirectly. In thisarticle, we also compared the factors affecting the aging oftransformer paper.
