An optimal circuit for One-HotResidue Number System abstract
The Residue Number System) RNS) is aninteger and non-weighted number system that calculatesaddition, subtraction and multiplication arithmeticoperations with equal delay and without the transmission ofthe carry propagation. Due to the fact that the residue numbersystem can perform arithmetic calculations in parallel, it isone of the important solutions to increase the speed in digitalcalculations. The use of a structure called "One-Hot ResidueNumber System (OHRNS)" has made it possible to performmathematical and logical calculations with a delay equal tothe delay of one transistor and minimal power consumption. The main problem of using this structure is the huge increasein the number of transistors with the increase of the modulesin the residue numbers system, which increase exponentially. Therefore, the use of OHRNS is suitable for small modules, but it cannot be used for large modules. In this paper, a newdesign of OHRNS is proposed, which has significantlyreduced the number of OHRNS transistors without increasingthe delay and power consumption.
