Consumption of Vitamin D with Risk of Type 1 Diabetes: Meta-Analysis Studies abstract

Numerous researches have linked vitamin D to a lower incidence of type 1 diabetes. We used observational data to construct a metaanalysisto assess this connection. databases in June 2013 focused on case-control and cohort research. fixed-effects or random-effectsmodels were used to assess pooled risk. Two cohorts and three case-control studies looked at children's vitamin D consumption, andtwo cohorts and one case-control research looked at mothers'. Throughout childhood, vitamin D supplementation was linked to alower risk of T1D than non-supplementation. The pooled OR for T1D was 0.71 (CI, 0.51–0.98). The case-control subgroup analysisfound the same thing as the cohort subgroup analysis. The %95 [CI] for vitamin D consumption pregnancy ranged from 0.66 to 1.36.Third, getting adequate vitamin D as a child may reduce the risk of developing T1D later in life. Despite this, there was inadequateevidence to link maternal vitamin D intake with the incidence of T1D in kids.
