Investigating the effect of training on the burden of cancer patients caregivers abstract

Due to the debilitating nature of cancer and its specific treatments, patients need the help of their families, so the families of cancer patients play a very effective role in various dimensions of patient care, including physical, emotional, and psychological, and the caregivers are under caregiving pressure. As a result, a semi-experimental study was conducted on 100 patient caregivers by random sampling method. After allocation, caregivers were divided into control and intervention groups, and before the intervention, the caregiver pressure questionnaire (CBI1) was completed in both groups. The routine care control group and the intervention group received group training on crisis and stress management strategies, and the follow-up of the intervention lasted six weeks. After completion, the questionnaire was completed again by both groups. The results showed that the provision of an educational program does not have a significant effect on the burden of care and therefore alone cannot be an effective method to reduce the burden of care.
