Abstract:

Spectrophotometry measures the quantitative of the reflection or transmission properties of a material as a function of wavelength. Spectrophotometers can measure the intensity of a light beam at different wavelengths. In this method, the concentration of the samples is determined by using the amount of light absorption of the samples. In this study, the residual amount of linezolid in the solution after photocatalytic degradation of linezolid by a novel MgAl۲O۴/BiOBr۰.۵Cl۰.۵ heterojunction catalyst, was calculated by spectrophotometer. At the same intervals, samples were taken out and filtrated. The UV-Vis spectrophotometer was employed at a wavelength of ۲۵۷ nm. The ۱۰%MgAl۲O۴/BiOBr۰.۵Cl۰.۵ showed the maximum removal efficiency (۹۵.۵۹%) within ۹۰ minutes under optimal experimental parameters (۱۰mg/L linezolid, ۱g/L catalyst, pH=۶.۵).
