A Comprehensive Study of Compatibilized PLA/EVOH Blends: Rheological,Thermal and Mechanical properties abstract

Microstructural development, mechanical and thermal properties of compatibilized PLA/ EVOHblend films were investigated.The results indicated that blends with more than 20.0 wt.% EVOHcontent led to formation of a laminar morphology. Elongation at break of the optimized blend is morethan 20 times higher compared to the neat PLA. The crystallinity content of the compatibilized blendfilms with various EVOH contents are all higher than that of neat PLA. These findings gave importantimplications for designing and manufacturing polymer packaging materials.
