An Investigation on The Influence of Mixing Impeller blade Thickness andDiameter on The Dispersion of TiO2 in Water-Based Acrylic Paint abstract

In this study, the influence of impeller blade thickness and impeller diameter to vessel diameter (Dratio)on the dispersion of TiO2 in gloss acrylic water-based paint was investigated through the gloss, hidingpower, and density measurement. By increasing the impeller blade thickness, the gloss of dry film aswell as hiding power increased significantly. The same behavior was observed as a consequence ofthe Dratio increment. However, the impact of thickness was more significant. Furthermore, densitywas increased by the increment of thickness and Dratio which could be a consequence of bubbleremoval facilitation.
