Antibacterial cellulose acetate@ZIF-8 nanofibers for wound dressingsapplications abstract

In recent years, biomaterials-based wound dressings have received much attention due to theirpotentials and many studies have been performed based on them. Accordingly, in this study, wefabricated electrospun nanofibers by a combination of Cellulose acetate(CA) incorporated withZeolite imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) containing different concentrations of a ZIF-8 for wounddressing applications. The antibacterial test results against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcusaureus confirmed the antibacterial properties of the coating. Additionally, the cell adhesion resultsand the corresponding SEM images demonstrated that the conditions were suitable for the adhesionand growth of cell samples on the wound dressing
