Anti-corrosion epoxy coating containing electrospunpolyacrylonitrile/polyaniline micro/nanofibers abstract

The aim of this study is to fabrication of conductive micro/nanofibers using polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and polyaniline(PANI) through electrospinning process, and to investigate the anti-corrosion effect of epoxy coating containingthese nano/micro fibers applied on a steel substrate. The structure and morphology of the micro/nanofibers wereanalyzed using FTIR, DSC, TGA, TEM and SEM. Additionally, the corrosion resistance of the resulted coating wasevaluated through immersion test. The results showed that the epoxy coating containing micro/nanofibers exhibitedhigher corrosion resistance as compared to pristine epoxy coating.
