Bacteria Removal Performance of PVDF Microfiltration Membrane Prepared byVIPS Method abstract

In this research, Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) microfiltration membranes are fabricated by acombination of the vapor induced phase separation (VIPS) and liquid induced phase separation(LIPS) as method, and the influence of exposure time is investigated on the fabricatedmembranes. The membranes are characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, maximum pore radius, and water flux through the membrane. The ability of membranes toremove bacteria from growth medium was also investigated for the optimal membrane. Resultsshowed that presence of humidity created symmetrical structure and interconnected pores. Thesemicrofiltration membranes are operative for bacteria removal applications.
