طرح مسئله: بررسی و تحلیل چگونگی شکل گیری و بسط مفهومی از «پرفورمنس» در مطالعات شهری، با تمرکز بر حوزه بلاغی «پیاده روی شهری» و تاثیر این مفهوم بر شکل گیری برداشت های جدید از شهر و روال های شهری، مسئله این تحقیق است. اهداف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف ارزیابی تاثیر مفهوم «پرفورمنس» در گفتمان شهری و معرفی کارآیی آن در مطالعه پدیده های شهری و طراحی فضاهای عمومی شهری انجام شده است. روش ها: روش پژوهش حاضر کیفی است. بر پایه مطالعه کتابخانه ای، نحوه شکل گیری این مفهوم و تاثیرات آن در حوزه مطالعات شهری تحلیل شده است یافته ها: پیاده روی شهری (به ویژه «یله گردی» دبور) به واسطه برخورداری از ظرفیت های درونی، خاستگاه مفهومی از پرفورمنس بوده که نه تنها زمینه ساز تغییر مناسبات شهر با ساکنانش شده، بلکه در پیدایش روال ها و اشکال جدید رفتاری در شهر موثر بوده است. یله گردی عناصری چون بازی، نمایش، مداخله و موقعیت را به نظام شهر تحمیل کرده و شهر را نه بر اساس روایت مسلط پیشین، بلکه بر پایه تجربه ورزی های کنشگران مورد خوانش قرار می دهد. نتیجه گیری: توجه ویژه به فعالیت ها و امور روزمره، مواجهات زودگذر، فرایندهای عمل و کنش های متقابل اجتماعی درزمینه شهر، نیازمند رویکردی است که بتواند منطق عملکردی این فعالیت ها را رمزگشایی کند. پرفورمنس هم به عنوان نوعی رفتار و هم به عنوان نوعی قیاس و روش کارآمد، ظرفیت های خود را در مطالعات شهر نشان داده و به اثبات رسانیده است.
