Abstract:
The present study aims to determine the effect of family-centered care training on the care pressure of children's parents. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a sample of ۶۰ participants, selected using a non-random sampling method, and divided into two groups: intervention and control. The participants in the intervention group received five weekly sessions of family-centered training, each lasting ۴۰-۶۰ minutes, based on the theory of meaningful learning. A total of ۶۰ participants were in this study. The average care pressure in the control group before and after the intervention was ۹۷.۱۰ (SD=۶.۷۲) and ۹۷.۷۰ (SD=۶.۷۲), respectively. In the intervention group, the average care pressure before and after the intervention was ۱۰۱.۳۷ (SD=۵.۲۹) and ۸۲.۰۷ (SD=۳.۷۵), respectively. The results indicated no significant difference between the control and intervention groups before the intervention (P=۰.۰۶). However, the difference in care pressure between the control and intervention groups after the intervention was significant (P<۰.۰۰۱). Additionally, the difference in care pressure scores in the control group before and after the intervention was not significant (P=۰.۲۶۸), whereas this difference was significant in the intervention group (P<۰.۰۰۱). The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) test also demonstrated a significant difference between the two groups when the effect of the pre-test was removed (P<۰.۰۱, eta=۰.۸۷). Consequently, it is crucial to prioritize patient- and family-centered care to better understand the needs of patients and their families. Effective care planning and treatment should address these needs comprehensively, empowering family members and children and enhancing their well-being.
