The effectiveness of compassion- based therapy on the mental well - being of students with high anxiety abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of compassion-based therapy on the mental well-being of students with high anxiety in Mallard. The method of this research was semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design. The statistical population included all students with high anxiety at Islamic Azad University Mallard branch in 2023. The sampling method was available, and the statistical sample size was 40 people. To collect data, Reiff and Keyes' (1995) psychological well-being scale was used. Gilbert's (2010; 2014) compassion-focused treatment was implemented during 8 sessions of 90 minutes. The results showed that compassion-based treatment has a positive effect on the mental well-being of students with high anxiety in Mallard (P < 0.05). According to the research results, it can be said that compassion therapy can be effective for psychological well-being.
