Modeling the input-output energy in pumpkin seed production system abstract
Energy is one of the main factor in sustainable production. Modeling the input-output energy is an important approach to increase energy efficiency. In the present research, the input-output energy in pumpkin seed production was modeled in Sonqor, Kermanshah, Iran. The required data were gathered by questioner and the mean of the amount and energy of inputs and output were calculated. The sensitivity analysis was applied to model the energy consumption in the system. The Cobb-Douglas model was applied to model the input-output energy. The mean of input and output energies were calculated as 10533.51 and 23184.98 MJ.ha-1, respectively. The results showed that the labor input had the highest positive effect on the seed yield with regression coefficient of 1.02 and showed that by 1 MJ increase in the input, the yield can be increased by 6.82 kg.ha-1
